The review and approval module for Odaptor is designed to give customers the chance to preview content submitted to the Odaptor service before it is transcoded and published to their websites. This powerful but simple-to-use add-on instantly enables review capabilities for any of your submission workflows. For example, allow internally produced content to be instantly published to your website, but require approval for user generated content (UGC) submissions before it is published.

Approval is a permission that can be assigned to any number of users. Specify the default reviewers and the notification email addresses for each submission workflow. Individual assets can be re-assigned to any other reviewer for additional review, delegation, or to accommodate intricate approval chains.

Customers can specify the submission handling rules, for example, transcode content to an intermediary review format (i.e. low-res proxy) to avoid transcoding charges for rejected content. Assets awaiting approval can also be stored in different locations to prevent inadvertent publishing. Approval and rejection actions are recorded in the asset history to provide an audit trail for individual submissions.

Upon approval, content follows the same process as any other submission to the Odaptor service. It is transcoded to the final outputs (if different than the review format), delivered to the final publishing destination, and an XML notification containing the metadata and URLs of the outputs will be sent.

• Delay transcoding and XML notification of content submissions until approved
• Configure your transcoding handling rules by defining a staging location and review format. Only approved content will be transcoded and delivered for publishing
• Assign the role of reviewer to any user, including third-party moderation services. Define default reviewers to individual submission workflows. Individual submissions can be re-assigned to other reviewers
• Enable review and approval for some or all of your submission workflows
• Specify the email addresses of reviewers and the message text for notification of a new submission
• Approval actions and comments are recorded in the history of the asset for audit capabilities. Rejected assets can be kept or deleted
• Moderation services available on an ongoing or event basis to handle the review and approval of thousands of submissions per day
