Origin Digital provides an end-to-end solution to capture, convert, and deliver real-time linear Internet video to individual users or IPTV head-ends in US, Europe, and Asia.
The Solution
Through partnerships with leading satellite providers, Origin Digital can capture video content from almost any traditional broadcast signal and can access or back haul signals to one of our encoding facilities. The SD or HD transport stream is decoded and the video is routed to our real-time encoders. If only portions of the broadcast need to be streamed, Origin Digital can capture specific periods of video based on a schedule or from physical media.
Encoding
Using the latest Windows Media, Flash, QuickTime, Real or 3GP2 encoding technology, the video stream can be encoded to any number of outputs. Multiple bit rates can be encoded simultaneously to ensure that viewers have a choice that matches their available bandwidth.
Delivery
To ensure scalability and the best possible viewing experience, the encoded signal is delivered to viewers worldwide using one or more content delivery network (CDN) streaming services. Origin Digital has relationships with the largest CDN providers in the industry and can offer attractive delivery rates due to our ability to aggregate usage across multiple customers.

IPTV has changed the landscape of traditional broadcasting. For years, a consumer's choice for TV services has been limited to national cable providers and dish networks. Today, anyone with an broadband connection can receive video content anywhere in the world from any number of IPTV providers. With a robust mix of live and on demand video, IPTV is addressing an insatiable need for content. Large libraries of generic and specialty content must be converted from various physical and digital forms in order to be consumable for viewers.
The Solution
Origin Digital's Odaptor service provides a single solution for ingesting, managing, transcoding, and delivering "video on demand" content directly to IPTV head-ends. Our application can also automate common tasks such as requests for new content, metadata translation, and platform publishing.
Content Ingestion
Origin Digital provides full service ingest capabilities, including DVD, Tape, and digital transfers in both standard and high definition. All content that is received will be ingested as a high quality master. Additional services can be performed on the content, such as:
Encoding and Delivery
Once digitized to a high quality master and edited, the content is submitted to the Odaptor service. A pre-defined set of any number of output formats and bit rates will automatically be generated. Depending on the customer workflow, Odaptor can generate a low-res proxy required for review and approval, or the final IPTV platform formats. Additional formats for DRM protected PC distributions can also be generated simultaneously. Distribution ready content will automatically be delivered to the IPTV platform, and a successful delivery notification will be sent to initiate the publishing process.
Manage and Report
All content is managed within the Odaptor web based Content Management System (CMS), allowing you to browse, search, and control your content from any source and any location.
